Campus Housing

Modern Residence Halls feature 24/7 secured access, elevators, A/C, ADA compliant showers and full laundry facilities on every floor. Single, Double, and Triple Suites are available with private bathrooms on Co-ed floors. Two of the larger residence halls are located on the East Campus, within a 5-10 minute walk to meeting spaces, dining, classrooms and studios for our planned events.

Getting around campus is relatively effortless. All on-campus activities, meeting spaces, dormitories, workshops, dining facilities and shuttle stops are within 5 minutes of each other. Level ground and well-marked pedestrian crosswalks and thoroughfares make it very easy to get to any and all areas of campus.

Hotels / AirBNB / Off-site Camping Options

AU Conference Services has partnerships with the Embassy Row Hotel and the Courtyard Marriott in Chevy Chase. Special rates for guests coming to AU are available.

The Embassy Row Hotel 1.8 miles from campus: 15% off the best available rate – Type in AMERICAN under Promo Code to receive discount.

Courtyard by Marriott Chevy Chase (see image below) 1.9 miles from campus: Type in U5V under Promotional Code when booking to receive discount.

AirBNB is an affordable option if you must stay off-campus as there are few hotels in the immediate vicinity. Embassy Suites and Courtyard by Marriott are nearest in Chevy Chase at Friendship Heights on Wisconsin Avenue (~2 miles). Days Inn at 4400 Connecticut Ave. NW and Georgetown Suites are within similar distances from the AU campus. Hotel rates vary widely during summer so book early and look for deals through popular booking sites. Parking and transportation costs should be factored in if staying off-campus. No campsites exist in Washington, DC. The nearest campground is Marsden Tract about 14 miles outside of Washington, D.C. There is no secured overnight parking near the trail and campgrounds are a distance away from the trail access points, as well so this is not recommended. See
