WHAT TO PACK

July weather conditions

Summer is typically hot and humid in the mid-Atlantic. July temperatures average in the high 80’s and often surge into the 90’s, unless thundershowers are present. Bring casual and comfortable lightweight clothes, with a scarf, windbreaker or light sweater to transition into much cooler air-conditioned spaces. Wear a wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and sunglasses for activities outside and plan accordingly for field trips. Umbrellas are useful to have handy for the occasional shower and scorching sun as well.
